Who can help low-income families with tax returns

Families who receive Centrelink payments such as Parenting Payment, Newstart or Disability Support Pension, or are on low incomes may be eligible for Tax Help. This is a volunteer service to assist people on low incomes to lodge their tax return on time. The service is available in capital cities and many regional centres from July to October each year.

Volunteers may not be able to assist people with complex tax obligations.
